FIRM WELCOMES NEW ATTORNEY

Moore, Heffernan, Moeller, Johnson & Meis, L.L.P is pleased to announce that Kaitlin Boettcher has joined the firm as an associate attorney.  Kaitlin currently provides general practice for the firm, including Family Law, Employment Law, Estate Planning, and Litigation.

Kaitlin grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Iowa. During her undergraduate studies, she worked for Student Disability Services where she oversaw scheduling and administration of students' exams and resolved conflicts related to exams and student accommodations. She interned for Chatham Oaks, Inc., a residential care facility for individuals with chronic mental illness, where she worked directly with clients and collaborated with an interdisciplinary team of professionals. She gained an interest for the legal field after interning at the Iowa Department of Human Services, where she attended juvenile court hearings and wrote closing case statements. She was also active in the community, volunteering for organizations such as Dance Marathon and Shelter House.

Kaitlin was awarded her Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2017. While attending law school, Kaitlin worked for a law firm where she researched various family law issues and drafted briefs. She was also active in the law school community participating as an Arbitration Competition Regional Competitor and was selected as a Van Oosterhout-Baskerville Moot Court Competitor. She worked in the law school's legal clinic, representing clients in permanent protective order hearings, drafting appellate briefs and motions for employment law cases, and conducting client intake interviews. She was also a member of the Pro Bono Society, participating in various volunteer opportunities around the community, including working at the Iowa Legal Aid Self-Represented Divorce Litigant Clinic, assisting self-represented litigants in divorce cases with required forms.
