Before joining the Firm, Daniel served as a legal intern for the Honorable Thomas D. Waterman of the Iowa Supreme Court, as well as the Honorable Mark D. Cleve, Senior District Court Judge for the Seventh Judicial District of Iowa. As an intern for Justice Waterman, Daniel conducted research, prepared memoranda, and drafted supporting materials on matters facing the Iowa Supreme Court. Additionally, at the district court level, he drafted orders and rulings on both civil and criminal matters.
While studying at the University of Iowa College of Law, Daniel worked as a research assistant for Professor Jonathan C. Carlson. As a research assistant, Daniel put his prior editing and publishing experience to use in proofing and readying for publication the fourth edition of International Environmental Law and World Order, a textbook co-authored by Professor Carlson and published by West Academic.
During law school, Daniel also worked for a New York City-based impact litigation firm specializing in matters affecting drug policy and health privacy.
Daniel is currently licensed to practice law in the state of Iowa and is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association. In his free time, Daniel enjoys reading contemporary literature, riding motorcycles, and exploring Sioux City with his dog, Whiski, a beagle/greyhound mix.
